Jesus changed his life forever!

I was on the Anastasis in Madagascar many years ago when this man had his life changed forever. Read his story below!

28 years ago, Jackey walked into the operating room on the Anastasis after his eyesight was overcome by dark shadows. It was through a life-changing surgery and his experience on the ship that he credits his first encounter with Jesus, which changed his life forever.

With his newly gained clear eyesight and faith in Christ, he went on to pursue his dreams of attending bible school and starting his own church, which has since become a staple in his community. An expansion project for the growing church was underway, but funds had since dried up.  

On 9th June, during Pastor Jackey’s Sunday Service, Church Partner Liaison Neal Carlstorm presented him with a check to complete the church expansion. The donation came from the Mercy Ministries fund—an offering plate that crewmembers donate to each Sunday service.

Pastor Jackey’s story shows how many lives are changed through Jesus’ healing, even years after an operation is finished, and how they positively impact others as well.  Thank you to the Africa Mercy crew who made Pastor Jackey’s new church expansion possible, as he continues to spread Jesus’ word of hope and healing. Lives are changed because of you!
